Selma Blair's rep says she did not intend harm on flight from Los Angeles
Selma Blair's representative says the actress experienced a medical emergency on a Delta flight from Los Angeles and did not intend to harm anyone.
Selma Blair was arrested and charged with assault following an incident on a Delta Air Lines flight from Los Angeles to New York, according to ABC News. The Port Authority Police Department responded to a call about a physically abusive passenger after the plane landed at JFK Airport and took Blair into custody.
Blair's representative stated that she experienced a medical emergency during the flight and did not attempt to open the aircraft door, contradicting some media reports. The representative emphasized that Blair did not intend to harm anyone during the incident.
The representative also highlighted Blair's ongoing health challenges, including her 2018 diagnosis of multiple sclerosis and a neurological condition called pseudobulbar affect, which affects emotional expression. They noted Blair still has bad days and lives with daily pain.
Blair pleaded not guilty to two counts of assault in Queens Criminal Court and was released on bond, with a court date set for January. The representative asked the public and the court to consider the full facts before making judgments.
Blair travels with a service dog, which authorities took from her during the incident, according to the representative. Despite her health issues, Blair has been active professionally, working on several film and television projects in 2026.
