A massive cold front is set to impact Baltimore and the surrounding Northeastern United States, affecting over 40 million residents, according to 590kqnt.iheart.com and newstalk1400online.iheart.com.

Baltimore is expected to experience damaging winds that could reach up to 70 miles per hour, along with heavy rain and thunderstorms, as reported by FOX Weather and relayed by the same sources.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has issued a Level 2 out of 5 risk of severe thunderstorms for parts of the Delmarva Peninsula, which includes Baltimore, highlighting the main threat as strong damaging winds and a brief potential for tornadoes.

Rainfall is predicted to pause mid-morning, allowing for some daytime heating that could intensify thunderstorms later in the afternoon. The heaviest rain is expected to hit the Interstate 95 corridor, including Baltimore, during the evening commute, according to the New York Post cited by the sources.

Following the storm, the coldest air of the season will move into the region by Saturday morning, with a freeze expected overnight into Saturday, as reported by whnz.iheart.com and others.

Wind gusts are forecast to decrease to 20 to 30 mph by midday Saturday, bringing drier conditions, though light precipitation could continue in some areas farther north, according to the weather reports.
