Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed concern over former President Donald Trump's decision to pause new US sanctions on Russia, calling the move unfortunate and suggesting it could encourage continued Russian aggression, NPR World reported.

Trump informed Congress that the pause was in the national interest but did not provide additional details, according to NPR World.

The Guardian World reported Zelenskyy described the lifting of sanctions as a 'reward' for Russian President Vladimir Putin and warned it would intensify the conflict in Ukraine.

Russia recently launched significant attacks on Ukrainian power plants, aiming to blackout cities before winter, which Zelenskyy linked to a strategic effort to make Ukrainian cities unlivable, The Guardian World noted.

Zelenskyy also anticipated that the US might lift more sanctions against Russia in the future and called for continued support, as reported by moneycontrol.com.
