The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) announced a request for public comments on its intention to collect information, as reported in the Federal Register. This is part of the agency's compliance with the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995, which requires public notice and a 60-day comment period for proposed information collections.

Similarly, the Department of Education proposed an extension without change of an existing information collection related to the National Reporting System for Adult Education. The proposal was published along with details about the Federal Register's Web 2.0 prototype site, which is not yet an official legal edition, according to the Federal Register.

The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) has submitted a new information collection request to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for approval and published a notice inviting public comments. This action also complies with the Paperwork Reduction Act's requirements.

Additionally, the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) proposed renewing an information collection related to applications for permits to drill, including supplemental information sheets and supporting documentation.

These notices, published in the Federal Register, are part of federal agencies' ongoing efforts to ensure transparency and public participation in regulatory processes involving data collection.
