Overturned vehicle briefly closes westbound Dorchester Road in North Charleston

Westbound lanes of Dorchester Road at Gwinnett Street reopened after a collision involving an overturned car, police said.

The North Charleston Police Department closed the westbound lanes of Dorchester Road at Gwinnett Street due to a collision involving an overturned vehicle, WCBD reported.

Authorities set up detours and advised drivers to use caution while the investigation and cleanup were underway, according to WCBD and WCSC.

The roadway was closed for nearly an hour before fully reopening at 9:04 p.m., ABC News 4 noted, with police thanking the public for their patience during the investigation.

The North Charleston Police Department continues to investigate the incident, with no further details released at this time.
