The National Hurricane Center reported that the remnants of tropical system Simon in the eastern Pacific have dissipated as of October 16, 2026. The system's maximum sustained winds decreased to about 35 mph (30 knots) with higher gusts, and the minimum central pressure was 1006 mb.

At 2 p.m. MST, the remnants were located near 21.5 degrees north latitude and 110.3 degrees west longitude, approximately 100 miles south-southwest of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. The system was moving northwest at 13 mph (20 km/h).

No coastal watches or warnings remain in effect. However, the National Hurricane Center noted that swells generated by the remnants could impact parts of the west-central Mexico coast and Baja California Sur over the next day, potentially causing dangerous surf and rip currents.

This was the final advisory issued by the National Hurricane Center on Simon. For ongoing updates, the public is directed to consult local weather offices and High Seas Forecasts from the National Weather Service.
