San Jose police arrested two men from Oakland in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred in downtown San Jose on May 31, according to ktvu.com and eastbaytimes.com. The shooting happened near South First and East Reed streets around 2:20 a.m., where officers found a vehicle crashed into a building with three men injured.

The victims were traveling in the vehicle when suspects fired several rounds into the car before fleeing, San Jose police said. Two of the men suffered gunshot wounds, and one later died from his injuries. The Santa Clara County Office of the Medical Examiner identified the deceased as 38-year-old Cyril Hanna.

The suspects, 23-year-old Samuel Jordan and 21-year-old Cameron Haynes, were identified using automated license plate reader technology, according to eastbaytimes.com. Jordan was arrested in Oakland on October 8, while Haynes was already in custody at Martinez Detention Facility for an unrelated crime.

Both men were booked on suspicion of murder and attempted murder. The motive and further circumstances of the shooting remain under investigation. Authorities have asked anyone with information to contact San Jose detectives.
