Former President Trump announced that the execution of Nidal Hasan, the Fort Hood shooter, will not be livestreamed. This decision came after significant bipartisan backlash against the Pentagon's earlier plans to broadcast the execution, which was the first military execution in over 60 years.
Trump stated that families of the victims would still have the option to attend the execution in person. The Pentagon's original proposal faced criticism from both Republicans and Democrats, who raised concerns about the potential for radicalization from the broadcasted images.
