California faces a significant housing affordability challenge, affecting many aspects of life across the state, including in the San Jose area, according to Palo Alto Online.

To address this issue, Proposition 1, an $11.25 billion housing bond, will be on the ballot this November, aiming to fund the construction of affordable housing.

It is estimated that more than 180,000 homes could be impacted by this measure, which seeks to alleviate the shortage of affordable housing in California.

Voters in San Jose and surrounding communities will have the opportunity to weigh in on this bond, which could influence housing availability locally and statewide.
