Documentary on Elizabeth Holmes filmed in oceanside home premieres this fall
A new documentary about Elizabeth Holmes and Theranos, co-directed by Nathan Fielder, offers an inside look at her life before prison.
As the cinema awards season begins this fall, a documentary about Elizabeth Holmes, the Theranos founder, is set to premiere, generating significant buzz at the recent Telluride Film Festival, We Are Movie Geeks reported.
The film is co-directed by comedian Nathan Fielder, known for his TV shows, and Lance Oppenheim, who directed the movie PRIMETIME. It marks Fielder's first major feature film.
The documentary was filmed in Holmes' rented oceanside home, where she and her partner, Billy Evans, live with their two young children. The couple is preparing for Holmes' upcoming incarceration for fraud charges related to Theranos' failed blood-testing technology.
Fielder and his crew mostly remained out of sight as he interviewed Holmes and Evans. Holmes maintains her innocence and promises full truth, while Evans discusses his initial meeting with her and their efforts to start anew.
This film offers viewers a rare glimpse into Holmes' life after the media frenzy and trial, capturing a personal side of the story as she faces prison time in just over a month.
